On 1 October 2026, Yerevan hosted the first NVB Frontier Forum, a closed-format international conference organised on the initiative of New Venture Brokerage, a valued member of the Armenian British Business Chamber (ABBC). Bringing together investors, company leaders and sector specialists, the Forum explored emerging investment opportunities in space technology, artificial intelligence and the infrastructure underpinning both sectors.
The Forum's space economy panel featured Dr. Szymon Dworski, Co-founder and Chief Executive of EOS Space Technology, a UK-based company developing next-generation plasma propulsion systems for satellites. Designed to extend satellite operational life and improve efficiency through a lighter, scalable architecture, the technology reflects developments in the evolving space sector. Established in 2024, EOS works alongside the universities of Surrey and Southampton and is among a growing group of early-stage British space companies seeking private capital rather than relying solely on public programmes. Dr. Dworski travelled from the United Kingdom to present the company's work and participate in the discussion.
He was joined by Nick Orenstein, Chief Executive of Manifest Space, a Los Angeles-based company developing space traffic awareness and spacecraft identification systems; Mary Glaz, Chief Executive of Mission Space, which measures space weather using its own orbital sensors; and Grigorii Trubkin, Managing Partner of Hypernova Fund. The session was moderated by Capt. Stephan Reckie, Executive Director of GEN Space, whose work focuses on connecting entrepreneurs, investors and government bodies across international markets.
Addressing the changing investment landscape, Orenstein highlighted the growing opportunities for private-sector participation in the space economy:
"Previously, organisations in the space sector mainly supplied solutions to governments. Now that more private companies are active in the field, an opportunity for private investment is also being created. These companies are international, so investors have the chance to take part in the development of businesses being built in different countries."
The Forum's second theme was artificial intelligence infrastructure, with discussions focusing on GPU capacity, computing resources and the investment required to develop them. Dmitry Duka, Director of Omniverse at NVIDIA, presented an international perspective on simulation and next-generation technology platforms. Armenia's position in this developing sector was explored by Harut Martirosyan, Chief Technology Officer of Firebird, and Armen Rostamian, Chief Technology Officer of Eleveight AI, both of whom are building AI computing infrastructure in Armenia.
Across the Forum's discussions, a central question was how sectors traditionally dominated by large-scale public programmes and institutional players are increasingly opening to private capital and venture investment. This theme also informed the perspective shared by Marianna Movsesyan, Chief Executive of New Venture Brokerage, who emphasised the importance of direct engagement with industry professionals in understanding emerging sectors and investment opportunities.
"An investment firm is only as strong as the conversations it has access to, who it speaks with and what it hears," said Movsesyan. "We speak every day with company founders, with investment funds, and with the specialists delivering infrastructure projects. Our understanding of these sectors is formed through those conversations rather than through reports alone. The Forum allowed us to pass that experience on to our clients and partners. Over the course of a single day they heard directly from the people working in these fields, without intermediaries, and drew their own conclusions from first-hand information."
Beyond its investment discussions, the Forum aimed to present Armenia to the international investment and technology community as a credible location for innovation and technological development, while fostering new connections between Yerevan and global markets.
